YouGov brandindex names Swish, a Swedish mobile payment solution, between the three strongest brands. Survey was implemented between 1 of July, 2018 and 30 of July, 2019. 300 brands were evaluated using different criteria including value for money, general impression, customer satisfaction, etc.

Open data from Swedish public transport

EU regulation accepted two years ago requires that all related authorities in the EU must provide metadata in 49 categories. This includes data on public transport, road traffic, bicycle loan places, rental car station, etc. The project’s planned completion date is 2022.

Publishing of collected public transport data should be implemented within a year. Representative of Samtrafiken, an umbrella organisation for public traffic operators, says that a half of all public transport operators joined the project. They constitute about 90% of all public transport trips. Smaller operators may have more problems, as they have less resources but have to do the same job.

Identified project’s obstacles so far are related to non-harmonised data that requires additional conversion and adaptors for data aggregation.

Google and Apple show increasing interest to open traffic data. Apple’s map data now presents data collected by Samtrafiken. Other market players also are trying and testing what can be done with this data. Expected time, when citizens can notice new services built based on open traffic data is coming spring (2020).
